I have had another witness of the power of God and the effects of his spirit in our home that is so essential. Lately we have had so much arguing and fighting among the kids and I cannot tolerate it. We have been doing family scripture study and prayer and FHE faithfully but we still have had problems. I however, have not been doing my own personal scripture study. It is so difficult with a young toddler who wakes up so early in the morning! But her sleeping schedule is getting better.
So the last two days I started my morning scripture study again. The first day I woke up at 4am and was sooooo scared I would be dragging by 10am. It was a great study session in the Doctrine and Covenants and I did not get tired at all the entire day. The next morning I woke up at 5am and again it was wonderful. I REALLY love my morning study sessions and writing all my findings in my scripture journal!
And this morning it was like MAGIC. The kids were absolute ANGELS. I didn't do anything different with them, but they were all SO loving, kind, staying on task, helping each other.... I could not believe my eyes.
I know it is because of my sincere pleas to Heavenly Father for help and by being obedient to the things I know I should do. I am so grateful Heavenly Father is always so forgiving and right there to help when I finally come to him. His spirit is our lifeline. I cannot do anything without His help. I am so grateful to have his help at all times, I just have to go to Him!
This morning I read the scripture that said, "Do all things with Prayer and Thanksgiving." I think that this scripture will be my new motto. Prayer and Gratitude truly are the keys to happiness and great power!
