Lessons to Learn

I didn't know if I wanted to include this with my Spiritual Experiences, because it is not uplifting and edifying like the others... but it is a part of the spiritual growing experience for sure.

I believe there are certain lessons that we are to learn during our sojourn here on earth and if we don't learn the lesson we are supposed to, they will be repeated in another way in our life, and can do so over and over until we learn what we are supposed to from that experience and use it to make us better.

I can see a certain pattern that has happened in my life that consists with losing my temper and yelling at others.  It is my greatest weakness and struggle it seems.

It breaks my heart to see the damage I have done to others through words and anger due to my lack of patience, lack of understanding of others and not seeking to understand, because of my pride and just by being plain selfish in every way.

I absolutely cannot let this go on any more.

I had a an experience about a month ago that really impacted my life in this regard.  It was a huge learning experience for me to feel the effects of such behavior in a totally new way.  I was deeply effected by this experience  just by being a witness, not even being the "victim."   I was at the mall with someone whom I love and look up to and they totally lost control and yelled at someone that I and they love dearly.  Like I mentioned, nothing was aimed towards me, I was just a bystander who witnessed the altercation, but just being there with them when it happened completely offended me spiritually.  It was a feeling I have never experienced before and cannot describe how it truly hurt and wounded my soul.

Anger and yelling and using harsh words is NOT ok.  It is NOT "normal" behavior and should never be accepted as such.  It is so offensive to the spirit and only does harm to all involved.

One purpose of anger is to use it to gain control over others.  Anger can also be the result from harvesting ill thoughts and feelings inside.  It comes from a lack of love and humility and patience.
