Today has been a very spiritual Sabbath for me. The spirit was so strong in Sacrament Meeting as Sister McQuade bore her testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel and power of the Priesthood.
I have been studying our current Teachings of the Prophets curriculum for Relief Society, the Life of President Lorenzo Snow. I love his knowledge and insights and experiences he has had with the spirit of the Lord. He was able to have a very powerful spiritual manifestation that gave him his testimony of the Savior, that Prophet Joseph Smith is a true prophet and the Book of Mormon is true, etc. I have been pondering over how he received his testimony and how it is different than I have gained my testimony. I was a little worried that my testimony was lacking because I have not had an experience like his, but I now realize through the help of the spirit that my testimony is not lacking at all, it has just manifested in my life in a different way... Line Upon Line.
Throughout my life I can recall special little experiences where I have had the Holy Ghost touch my heart and confirm truth to my soul. It has been through several experiences that I have received that conviction and testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel and that Jesus Christ truly is our Savior and Redeemer. I know with all my heart and soul that Jesus Christ did give of himself and suffer for the sins of the world. I know that he died on the cross and that the Atonement is real and has power that can change our lives in a way that allows us to come closer to our Father in Heaven and be able to return to His presence in purity and holiness.
I know the Holy Ghost is real and testifies of truth. As I seek his influence and live worthy of it, the spirit has taught me and inspired me and has guided me to the things that I have needed to continue to progress and learn and gain a greater understanding and testimony of God and His Plan.
I love the gospel with all of my heart. I know that God and my Savior are the sources of all the blessings, peace and joy that I receive in my life. This life is an amazing journey and experience and I learn so much every day.
I am so grateful for the knowledge and testimony that I have. I am so grateful for the love and sacrifice of my Savior and His gift that enables and purifies me to be able to receive the blessings my Heavenly Father desires to bestow to those who love and follow Him.
The gospel is true. The Book of Mormon is the word of God and will help us find our way to Him. The Holy Ghost is true and will teach us all things. The Savior is our advocate and dear friend and is there to bridge the gap to return to Gods presence. It is all so beautiful and amazing. We are so blessed, we are so loved by Him.
