Josh and I were asked to speak together at our wards Young Women in Excellence Night in a couple weeks. The topic is "Inner Beauty."
I always struggle and stress about what to say and it is a very hard "work out" the thoughts and words I need to adequately teach and strive to seek the mind and will of the Lord at the same time. He isn't very talkative! So it causes great soul searching, pondering and studying, putting together the testimony and thoughts of my heart and pray at the same time that he will lead me and guide me with direction and inspiration that I can recognize if I am really missing the mark!
I am always grateful to stand as a witness of Christ and to testify of truths of the gospel, to be his mouthpiece. I just wish I had more confidence and ability to do it well. It has been very beneficial for me to study this topic the last few weeks as a reminder to myself of my own worth and where I can find peace and happiness in myself and develop my own beauty.
I have had little nudges and helps as I have been preparing this talk, for which I am very grateful. Just this morning I thought about a quote I had read from Lorenzo Snow or George Albert Smith and wanted to find it. I picked up my Lorenzo Snow book and flipped right to it. What a tender mercy that was for me. :)
As I study the gospel principles, and hear talks on all sorts of various gospel topics, EVERYTHING seems to always boil down to turning to Christ and having Christ in our lives. I truly believe that the level of our happiness and success is in direct accordance to the level of commitment and acceptance/including of Christ we have in our lives.
He is our maker. He is our healer, our helper, the finisher of our faith. We must include him in all that we do in our life!! And he turns what we do in to more, greater things than we could do alone.
I am so grateful for my Savior. I am so grateful for his Love and that he is willing and waiting and wanting to be a part of my life as is a part of my life as much as I will include him in it.
The gospel is beautiful. I am so very blessed.
